The 13th edition of the Metallization & Interconnection Workshop (MIW) was held on 20–21 October 2025 in Berlin, Germany. The event brought together leading experts from research and industry to discuss the latest advances in metallization and interconnection technologies for high-efficiency solar cells.
The SiLEAN project was proudly represented by IMEC, who presented recent results developed in collaboration with project partners TU Delft and Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The presentation showcased SiLEAN’s progress in silver-free metallization and bismuth-free interconnection concepts, both key to improving the sustainability and scalability of silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cells.
It was an inspiring opportunity to exchange ideas, share scientific achievements, and explore the latest innovations shaping the future of PV manufacturing.
The full presentation (titled: Towards Sustainable SHJ Module Fabrication: Multiwaire TWILL Interconnection for Copper-based Matallization and Indium-Free Transparent conductive Oxides) is available here.
