Industrial Pathways to Scalable, High-Performance Silicon PV: Interfaces, Metallisation, and Wafer Innovations for Terawatt Manufacturing
The second SMARTIES online workshop, this time organised by the SiLEAN project, took place on June 3rd.
Selected speakers included representatives from Solar Power Europe, the coordinator of the SHINE-PV, coordinator of the EMPOWER project, alongside the SiLEAN, BURST, and TERASUN project teams.
The event concluded with a roundtable discussion moderated by Delfina Munoz, vice chair of ETIP-PV, bringing together all speakers to discuss scaling challenges and industrial pathways for next-generation silicon PV technologies.
You can find the available presentations here.
- Investing in Solar PV innovation’s scale up to deliver a secure and competitive EU economy – Thomas Garabetian, Head of Innovation and Global Partnerships, SolarPower Europe
- Scaling and demonstrating novel back-end equipment and processes for SHJ and TOPCon solar cells – Victor Acinas, Applied Materials Europe, SHINE-PV Coordinator
- Alternative equipment and processes for Si PV manufacturing: An opportunity to bring PV production back to Europe – Junjie Zhu, Institute for Energy Technology, EMPOWER Coordinator
- Pioneering critical-raw material free and ultra-thin silicon heterojunction solar cells: a status of SiLEAN research (part 1-1, part 1-2, part 1-3) – Valerie Depauw, Research Engineer at IMEC, SiLEAN
