Short introduction
Great discussion within the SMARTIES cluster!
On 20th Feb the Eu-funded projects BURST, TERASUN and SiLEAN joined forces to host and chair the first SMARTIES cluster workshop.
The event titled “Advanced concepts for high efficiency crystalline Silicon technology: how to ensure affordability, security of supply and sustainability of PV technologies” took place online with more than 50 participants.
The targets of the workshop was to discuss current activities, challenges and possibilities for the future of crystalline Silicon technology.
The programme covered a first part on projects introductions, also from invited project PEPPERONI, but also high-level presentations on the EU policy and expected impact for the PV sector (European Commission, Ms. Maria Getsiou) and on the new co-programmed partnership from solar PV (from ETIP PV, Dr. Delfina Munoz).
The second part of the workshop focused targeted Q&A session and a deep panel discussion on long term European research strategy chaired by Dr. Achim Woyte from CINEA.
It has been an honour and a pleasure joining this event and we are looking forward to next steps!
